Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

Rosehip Oil has recently become a lot more popular than it used to be when I first learned about it. In fact I kind of expect the Argan madness to extend to Rosehip one day soon…(how many products can you spot in the stores today that contain Argan Oil? It wasn’t like that a few years ago, was it?) Rosehip Oil is a very powerful oil that carries a lot of benefits to skin and hair and it is relatively inexpensive, considering all of its incredible properties. It was used for centuries by Native Americans to cover a multitude of skin needs. Healing, moisturizing, and soothing are just a few of the popular uses for it. Therefore, I was very excited to find out that one of my favorite skincare brands, Pai Skincare, made their own Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil Blend*, a unique formula that works to help reduce the appearance of scars, stretch marks, fine lines, and UV damage in all skin types.

As I said, I was not new to Rosehip oil before using the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil. However, as soon as I got the first drop of it into the palm of my hand, I immediately noticed a significant difference between this and the rosehip oils that I had used before. In fact, Pai’s blend contains not only the seed oil, but the fruit oil as well, which delivers twice the regenerative sterols, and five times the caretonoids of seed oil. Picture it like this: instead of getting a juice, you get a cider, which is more nutritious. I also read from Pai that this oil is not cold-pressed, but it is instead extracted with volcanically sourced CO2, which preserves the properties of the plant, eliminates all germs, and prevents oxidation. Just to mention some of the most outstanding properties of Rosehip oil, it contains high amounts of: essential fatty acids (which promote skin’s elasticity and repair skin from environmental free radical damage), Vitamin A (which helps to heal sun-damaged skin), and antioxidants (that protect and repair skin from premature aging).

My favorite uses of this oil have been as a nigth-time facial serum, as an under-eye serum, and as a special treatment for my hair ends. I also add a drop or two to my moisturizers. On days when I am not going out and I am not exposing my skin to the sun I like to apply a drop on my cheekbones where I have most of my dark spots. Rosehip oil is very effective at healing sun-damaged skin. Ask Miranda Kerr, that is what she told Vogue.

What I love the most about using this oil blend is that it improves the appearance of my skin’s texture right away. On days when I use it I have noticed that my skin looks more firm and supple and it has the glow that only a good nourishing serum can give. It absorbs quickly, without leaving greasy residues on the skin and it helps with soothing redness on some areas of my face like cheeks and around the nose. Basically, between my day-time Echium Eye Cream and the night-time Rosehip Oil, Pai Skincare has covered all my eye-care needs. Next, I have my eye on their Echium and Amaranth Age Confidence Facial Oil.

I was already a big fan of Rosehip Oil, but I definitely like Pai’s blend more than any other one that I tried before. I think that Rosehip Oil is a great investment for anyone’s beauty cabinet because it is so simple, yet so powerful, and definitely less expensive than most good facial oil blends.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil Blend can be purchased at The Detox Market.

  • I heard so many great things about this oil! I’m using just some random rosehip oil but i’ll definitely have to try this from Pai next :) Great review Lilly :) xx

    • Thank you Jana! I am sure you will notice a difference :) x

  • I also think that pai rosehip oil is better than the other ones I tried, plus I like the way it smells, like a rosehip tea, delicious!

    • I agree with you, it smells so lovely and feels so different on the skin too :)

  • Rosehip oil, for some reason, doesn’t agree with my eyelid area where I need the most help. But it might also just be because I was using low grade oils in the past. MVO’s night serum with retinol is still top of my shopping list but if that won’t work (I’m yet to buy it ’cause I’m waiting for a local spree to save on shipping), I’ll probably look into this oil :)

    • Hi Vivi, which ingredients are you specifically looking for? We need to chat a bit ;)

      • Haha, basically I just need ‘anti-aging’ ingredients. I’m turning 28 this year and all the sun damage I accumulated during my younger years (I was a swimmer), are now starting to surface. Also, I have mixed heritage so my skin has the ‘vulnerabilities’ of both Asian and Western skin.

  • Mavs

I love rosehip oil and rosehips in all forms have always been a huge part of my life. My ma used to give rosehip juice to me as a baby as it is so nutritious and beneficial.
Rosehip oil is a definite as part of a skincare routine, especially if you have stretch marks or you’re pregnant.
it’s great to read this review as i’ve tried many rosehip oils like you but never one that included the oil from the fruit as well, or with that extraction method either. i will certainly be having to check this pai rosehip oil out now, sounds incredible, like a super version of rosehip oil!

    • Hi Mavs, thanks for sharing your experience. That sounds wonderful, I have never tried rosehip juice, but I will definitely look for it at health stores! I have never read about the benefits of taking it internally, I need to look into that. I bet it helps the skin even when taken internally. Thank you for your comment, and I would love to know what you think about it if you try it :)

  • Pai’s oil was my introduction to rosehip oil, and I’m not sure I could use anything else now! Love how it smells too. I was checking out other rosehip oils in a store the other day and they just could not compare scent-wise!

    • Totally agree with you Caitie! I can definitely smell the flower part in the blend, and this is why in my opinion this blend smell better than regular Rosehip Oil made only with the seed oil. It’s such a treat for the skin! Thank you for your comment :)

      • Hephzibah

The smell is gorgeous. I was trying out a sample of this alongside a Trilogy one, and one scent, Pai definitely won! It makes it a more special experience. x

  • MarciAllison

Thanks for your detailed review! I have been using Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Fruit & Seed Oil for months and I love it! I use it at night all over my face, under eyes and neck. My skin was very dry before using this product and it has really helped to heal the surface of my skin and I am sure it is working deeper based on how calm and even-toned my skin looks. My skin feels great too. Definitely a keeper in my skincare routine.

    • Hi Marci, thanks so much for sharing your experience! The great thing about this blend is that is perfect for all skin types, dryer like yours, combination like mine…That’s the beauty of facial oils, they are so packed with nutrition for the skin! Thank you for your comment :)

  • i love rosehip oil, and haven’t seen a difference with all the ones i’ve tried so i’m so curious about this one! it’s funny, rosehip oil is way more famous and popular in australia than argan oil. i’m more partial to argan oil though because it’s thicker and more hydrating on my dry skin, though your post makes me curious about rosehip again! great read :)

    • Thanks love! I wonder if Miranda Kerr has anything to do with rosehip oil popularity in Australia ;) I do love both oils, but I am in my 30s so especially at night I reach for anything that comes with ANTI-AGING written on it :)

      • haha, i actually think her range came out later than other oz brands! argan oil is anti-ageing too isn’t it? and WHAT. you are NOT in your 30s! this is ridiculous. you are now my new skin idol :D

  • Kasey Michelle

I’m so glad you wrote about this product! :) I have been only been using Pai’s Rosehip oil for a short time but it has already changed the way my skin looks and feels. Like you, I also love to use this for night-time serum, the smell is so nice too! I couldn’t recommend this product enough. Makes me so confident in Pai products and looking forward to trying more!

    • Hi love, I agree with you, this is a really great facial oil blend! I try so many, but feature only a few ;) What are you currently using for your skincare routine? Do you use a mist before applying this oil? I would love to know! :)

      • Kasey Michelle

I’m currently using Pai products for my daily skincare routine and I love them! In the morning I use Pai’s Camellia & Rose cleanser with the muslin cloth to clean/exfoliate and the Gernaium & Thistle moisturizer before my makeup. At night I use the cleanser then spray on the Pai Lotus & Orange Blossom toner and finally apply the Rosehip oil. I must say my favorite part at night is the Rosehip oil! It’s so soothing/moisturizing. Do you apply the rosehip oil before/after a toner? Would love to know your current skincare routine as well! :)

        • Hi beautiful, your routine sounds lovely. I just published a TAG about skincare today, with my main skincare routine steps listed. How about you do that TAG too? ;)

  • Little Mokuyoubi

    Lilly,
You are definitely a danger for my bank account!
I want to try everything you review!
I have never tried any Pai skincare products and I don’t know about Rosehip oil.
I also have some dark spots under the eyes.
    So thanks for this review…
    Melanie

    • Hi Melanie, I totally understand, I am a danger to my own bank account too ;) Pai Skincare is one of my favorite brands because they make well formulated products and care a lot about sensitive skin. Their products are so soothing! They also have the best customer care, so I highly recommend picking some products from their line :)
Rosehip Oil is really powerful. Another reader left a comment about taking it internally because it is so beneficial to the body. I must look into that. As for the skin, it is very healing. What type of skin do you have?
Thank you for your comment, you are always so kind Melanie! Where are you from? I was looking at the beautiful photos on your blog, and saw that you write in French, right? :)

      • Little Mokuyoubi

You’re right indeed! I am French but have been living in Scotland (UK) for 2 years and a half now. I am 33 and have a 3 years old daughter.
I can buy most of the products you review except MVO and La Bella Figura which are two brands I’d LOVE to try (that is a real shame, since your daily summer routine post, I really want/need the MVO products!!!).
I think my skin is dry. Do you think this Rosehip oil would be suitable for a dry skin? I also felt that my skin was missing a bit of firmness and elasticity lately…
Would you also recommend it for mature skins (i am thinking of making a gift to my mum which already used to use argan oil)?
        Thanks for your anwsers…
        Melanie

  • Bev

Love this oil and love Pai :) I use their whole skincare routine!
I always spritz with their toner before applying the oil and as I use it at night it’s the Orange flowr & Lotus toner I use. Daytime I use the Rosemary & Rice one but don’t use the oil.

I have their new oil and do one month of rosehip and one month of the new oil. It’s very moisturising. I look forward to the changes but my preference is swaying to Rosehip.

  • Bev

I love this Pai, use practically everything from the range and adore this oil. I always spritz with the Orange flower and Lotus toner before applying the oil.

I alternate with the new oil every other month. It us very moisturising and excellent for facial massage. I look forward to the change between the oils but if I had to choose one I think the Rosehip would be my favourite. They are both luxurious :)

    • Hi Bev, that sounds heavenly! I haven’t tried the toner you mentioned, but it must smell and feel amazing! I absolutely love to spritz my face with hydrating mists (and love floral scents) before applying my oils. Such an enjoyable activity! Rosehip is one of my favorite oils too, so many great skin benefits and uses come from that one bottle. Thanks so much for your comment :)

      • Bev

Thank you for your blog. I used to use Liz Earle skin tonic but have no doubt I much prefer Pai’s They are worth the extra expense and I feel really help to prepare my skin before the rosehip oil. Enjoy your blog

  • Jennica

I have been contemplating this oil for a while, and your review has added fuel to the fire :) I am just worried it will make me break out as I already have oily/acne prone skin and live in an insanely humid climate! Perhaps I will wait until winter to give it a try…Pai is just so amazing, I love everything I have tried so far!

    • Hi Jennica, I totally understand your concerns. My skin type is similar to yours, so I always test products carefully, in tiny amounts and in the areas of my face that are less prone to breaking out. Also, I use oils at night, mostly. Have you ever used products with rosehip oil in them? That may give you an idea about your skin’s tolerance toward this oil.

I agree with you, Pai is really an amazing skincare line! Thank you for your comment love! xx

  • asti

Oh Lilly, I love this oil too! Although sometimes I find the scent too sweet for my liking, but it really is lovely. I love how it brightens up my skin.

    • Asti! I missed you girl!

This is one of my favorite oils. I think that Rosehip Oil is a must-have for all skin types.

Hi Lilly, thanks to your review, I got myself this rosehip oil and absolutely love it. I have a combination type skin and wasn’t sure about using oil on my face but it really is the best thing I have used so far.
Off late I have been more aware of how many toxins are present in the regular skincare and makeup stuff…and have decided to invest in natural, organic products. And thanks to you, have already shortlisted a few.
Just thought of asking you if you plan on doing reviews on natural brands for other toiletries & household products like hand wash, detergents, cleaning liquids, etc.
Thanks again and wish you a very happy new year!

    • This made my day! :) I am so glad this oil worked for you. I have combination skin too, and my skin has been much better since I started to use face oils as well. I find that my skin looks more calm and smooth.

I do not plan to get into more “green living” topics due to time constraints, but if you like, email me at beautybylilly@live.com and I will give you some good links of websites that can specifically help you with that ;)

Thanks so much for sharing! :)

  • The Green Menagerie

I love rose hip seed oil! I haven’t tried Pai’s yet since I’ve been using another brand. It doesn’t make my acne prone skin break out, and I think it has helped my acne scars and dark spots. Do you notice the oil changes smell over time?

    • Hi! No, I haven’t noticed any changes in the way that the oils smells. However, I use it up pretty quickly! ;)

  • Vicky

Hi, should’t this oil come in a dark bottle to not damage the oil properties?

This was a great and informative article!! Being no stranger to rosehip oil, I was wondering if you’d consider writing a guide for us newbies on how to tell, when purchasing, whether or not the rosehip oil is genuine? I haven’t been able to find a good/clear guide online so far and I’m sure a lot of people out there would appreciate having a guide around to avoid buying a fake product. Thanks heaps in advance =]

Can you please tell, is it bad to use this oil while having sun bath?

    • Hi Ksenia, you should definitely use a broad spectrum sunscreen underneath to prevent a sun burn and re-apply the sunscreen as often as directed.

      • Ksenia Tertichnaya

        Thank you very much!

        • You’re welcome!
